Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance seeks to provide protection for you and your family against a wide array of risks while on your journey. Give yourself and your family peace of mind knowing that you have the support and medical care should anything go wrong on your trip.

Travel Insurance is typically split into two categories, Basic Cancellation and Comprehensive Travel Insurance. Basic Protection covers lost bags, missed connections, and refunds you if you can’t travel due to illness or injury. Comprehensive Travel Insurance covers all the previously mentioned hazards, but also includes medical and dental emergencies, evacuations, and accidental injury or death.  A typical Comprehensive Travel Insurance plans will provide cover for the following:

  • Medical Insurance
  • Personal Accident Insurance
  • Personal Liability Insurance
  • Cancellation of Flights and Delay of Journey
  • Loss of Baggage and Personal Possessions
  • Trip Cancellation

Whether you or someone in your family suffers an injury, comes down with a sudden illness, or has to cancel a trip due to natural disasters, travel insurance will ease any traveling headaches and inconveniences which may affect your holiday or work trip.

Uses for Travel Insurance

Travelling can be expensive, whether it’s the flights, hotels, tours, or day to day spending. The last thing you want to see is all of that money and time spent organizing this non-refundable trip to be unsalvageable due to any unforeseen event. Travelling hazards can include the following:

  • Cancel (Personal Reasons)
  • Missed Connection
  • Flight is Cancelled
  • Terrorist Event
  • Sick or Injured
  • Baggage Delayed or Lost
  • Lost Passport

Most insurers request that travel insurance is purchased at least within 15 days of travel. However, even if you wait until a day prior to your trip, you can usually still buy Travel Insurance.

With the two types of travel insurance, travelers can determine – depending on the duration, cost, and risk of their travels – what type of cover is suitable for your trip. For low cost and domestic trips, basic travel insurance, if any, would be recommended unless you are predisposed to any of the previously mentioned risks – for example, if you become ill before a flight or the destination’s political stability is at question. Whereas with more expensive trips, international trips, and cruises, it is recommended you get comprehensive insurance as there are a much wider array of risks. At INLE Risk Management we will provide travel solutions for you and your family no matter the type or cost of trip.
